About Us
Who we are
The Asido Foundation is a Not-for-Profit Mental Health Advocacy Charity with the aim of providing evidence-based information, specially tailored advocacy efforts as well as interventions; with the long-term view of contributing towards filling the huge mental health needs of the Nigerian populace.
It should no longer be acceptable for persons with mental disorders to lack access to quality care, or be ignorant of how and where to access care. Their personal dignity and human rights should be protected and respected at all times. There should be no more shame or stigma associated with mental illness than is associated with physical illnesses.

Our Values
The core values of the Asido Foundation are: dignity and respect for human rights, equity and social justice, scientific evidence, respect for culture and religion, accountability, integration, and service user empowerment.
These values and principles are guided by global best practices as espoused in the National Mental Health Policy of Nigeria (2013) and the West Africa Health Organization’s (WAHO) Strategic Mental Health Plan (2018-2023).
